A story in today's Star Tribune on a study of the 2002 Minnesota Senate race shows that contrary to widely held views neither campaign was excessively negative:
They also reported that, before the Oct. 25 plane crash that killed him, 70 percent of Democratic Sen. Paul Wellstone's ads and 66 percent of Republican Norm Coleman's were more positive than negative.
Let's recall the words that Minnesota's own Garrison Keillor used to describe Coleman's campaign shortly after the election:
The mostly negative campaign he ran against Wellstone was forgotten immediately.
Time for a new mathematics teacher up at Lake Wobegon?
