If by chance you missed yesterday's Seventy-eighth annual Northern Alliance Radio Network Scotch Egg Eating Contest at the Minnesota State Fair, you can now watch all the heart-stopping (literally) action on video here. The cinematography is courtesy of John Hinderacker's youngest daughter and the voice doing the call is none other than yours truly. But the real heroes were the brave contestants: Mike from Fargo, Vince from Minneapolis, Minnesota Fourth Congressional District candidate Ed Matthews, Mike the radio intern, our own Atomizer, and Giovanni from Eden Prairie (of course).
It was the closest finish we've ever had as three eaters were within crumbs of each other down the stretch. But only one would persevere to win the coveted title "Scotch Egg King." Who was this man among men? Watch the video.
