HWX, The Hottest State

After a rare and well deserved break of a couple of weeks, John Hinderaker of Power Line and me, Brian Ward of Fraters Libertas,  are back together for a very special episode of the Hinderaker-Ward Experience (HWX).

And what a doozy it is.  John was honored to be a judge of the 20 Hottest Conservative in the New Media 2012, and through his elite access to this impressive body of talent, we bring you each and  everyone of the winners LIVE for an interview.  Or at least that was the plan.   Some are still calling this the hottest Ricochet podcast of all time.   If you don't believe me, as Harry Reid says, you'll have to prove it!
Later we talk some Olympics, including our thoughts on the US women beach volley teams new uniforms (hot), doped up Chinese swimmers  (hotter), and the opening ceremony tribute to Britain's greatest glory, the National Health Service (en fuego).
Then we transition to one of America's greatest glories, a Chick-fil-A sandwich and the recent  crypto-fascist attempts to shut the franchise down over thought crimes thunk by their executives.
We also cover the efforts of my Congresswoman (for the next 90 days, thanks to redistricting), Minnesota's own Michele Bachmanan and her controversial efforts to spur inquiry into the influence of radical Islamists on the US government.  Then we analyze Harry Reid's top secret sources on Mitt Romney's tax evasion schemes.
We wrap up with a double shot of Loon of the Week, featuring the mayor of one of America's great cities coming out against hate chicken and, tragically, Luke Skywalker finally succumbing to the Dark Side of the Force.
Then it's a bonus double-barrelled blast of This Week in Gatekeeping, featuring the masterful fact checking and editorial control of Brian Ross and ABC News and the New York Times getting just about everything wrong you can in the obituary of Gore Vidal.

Many ways to hear the podcast, including over on the mothership at Ricochet.   You can be sure to never miss an episode, by subscribing via iTunes or Feedburner.  Or just use the player embedded below or in the upper right hand corner of this web site.  If all of these fail, send me an email and I'll come to your house and read from the written transcript.  Enjoy!
