Ninety-Seven Percent Pure...

The latest course offering from Prager University is on climate change and addresses the notion that there is a scientific consensus that it is an imminent threat which requires drastic action.

By now you’ve probably heard the frightening statistic: 97% of scientists agree that climate change represents an existential crisis for mankind, and the only way to save the planet is to ban fossil fuels. But is this statistic really true? Enter Richard Lindzen, an emeritus professor of atmospheric sciences at MIT and one of the nation’s most renowned climate scientists. Professor Lindzen explains that most atmospheric scientists do indeed agree on the basic factors, both man-made and natural, that significantly impact the climate, but that the science and data aren’t giving us much reason to worry. So where are all of the doomsday predictions coming from?
