Freedom of Speech Does Not Mean Freedom From Ridicule

Mitch Berg at Shot in the Dark does a nice job taking apart Laura Billings and her editorial which appeared yesterday in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, in which she attempts to defend the poor anti-war celebrities who have been treated so meanly by the war mongering conservative punditry. Personally, I could care less what actors, actresses, or musicians think about the war but if they want to open their yaps and demonstrate just how simplistic and silly their understanding of the real world is then they should be ready to accept the consequences of their words, which includes open mocking and criticism of their positions.
