Old Dodders Never Die...

But they don't fade away either. Dayton says he plans to run for governor but could change mind:

Former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton said Sunday he plans to run for governor in 2010, but could change his mind.

"I intend to run for governor," Dayton told the Star Tribune in an interview, adding that his plans aren't set in stone. "Three years is a long time away."

Dayton made similar remarks Friday to about 250 party supporters at the annual Olmsted County DFL dinner in Rochester.

"He said he was a candidate for governor," said Lynn Wilson, chair of the Olmsted County DFL, who said the declaration was greeted enthusiastically.

Dayton, who had cited frustration as his not reason for seeking a second term in the Senate, had said back in January that he was contemplating a run for governor. At the time, he stressed to The Associated Press that a decision was still two years away.

That whole business of serving in the self-proclaimed "world's greatest deliberative body" was just too frustrating for Marky. But hey, he'd make a great governor, right?
