One of the nice benefits of attending a national political convention is the opportunity to rub elbows with the upper crust of the political commentariate. Being on Radio Row afforded us just that opportunity on Monday night.
When we noticed that Hugh Hewitt (founder of "Snowmobilers for Palin) was interviewing noted political pundit Michael Barone we took full well advantage of the situation.
After the interview was over, Hugh graciously introduced us to Barone. We've interviewed him ourselves on the NARN First Team a few times, but never had a chance to make his acquaintance in person.
He was an affable, charming fellow who allowed us to bend his ear for several minutes on pressing political matters. Even though you know that he has more knowledge about the American political scene in his pinky finger than an entire panel of CNN pundits, it's still impressive when he starts reeling off demographic stats and voting histories of particular Congressional districts. The man is the real deal.
He was also gracious enough to go out of his way to introduce us to Liam Fox, MP and currently the U.K.'s Shadow Defense Secretary. Fox didn't have much time to chat, but he did agree to come back to Minnesota next year to defend the honor of his homeland in the NARN State Fair Scotch Egg eating contest.
We need some help coming up with an appropriate caption for this pic:
A meeting of two great political minds?
