One of the bright lights of the state Republican party, Jeff Johnson, joins us. Former State Senator from Plymouth and recent GOP candiate for Attorney General, he is now a freshly minted Hennepin County Commissioner from the sprawling District 7 (the westerna nd northern 'burbs).


As a fiscal conservative, he all too often finds himself as the lone voice of dissent on 6 - 1 votes against the latest grand spending initiative. To get the SOS out, he's started the Hennepin County Taxpayer Watchdog website, highlighting the curious spending priorties of his colleagues in the majority. Some of these schemes qualify for his "Golden Hydrant" award. We'll ask him for the meaning behind the symbolism and get the low down on the county tax and spending spree.
