Flogging the Dolphin
The Star Tribune announces their latest journalistic endeavor:
The Star Tribune and the Minnesota Zoo invite you to name the baby dolphin for a chance to win fabulous prizes.
On June 21, a male dolphin calf was born at the Minnesota Zoo. Now, we're fishing for a splashtastic name for him. If you need inspiration, check him out on the Minnesota Zoo's Webcam, then submit your choices for a chance to win! Contest ends August 18.
Now that the Star Tribune has gotten into bed with the Minnesota Zoo and is sleeping with this fish (mammal!), I pray that critter doesn't end up in a situation demanding objective media coverage. For example, if he gets caught fixing swim meets or gets the Democratic nomination for governor, I could not trust the paper's coverage, given their clear commerical conflict of interest.
However, I do appreciate fabulous prizes, so I submit my splashtastic name suggestions for the Star Tribune baby dolphin:
