Identity Theft

Bill expands list of acceptable voter ID:

ST. PAUL--Minnesota voters could find it easier to identify themselves at the polls under legislation moving through the Senate.

Minnesota's same-day registration law requires proof of residency. That's often done by showing a driver's license and a utility bill.

The bill that passed the Senate today would also accept college and high school I-D's plus a cell phone bill.

Sources have also told us that the Senate is considering a DFL sponsored amendment to the bill that would add "Licensed Bikini Inspector" certificates and punch cards from local sub shops to the list of acceptable IDs for voting.
