Hughie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship

When I saw Duane's post at Radio Blogger giving us a behind the scenes peak at the studio where Hugh hosts his show, I noticed something familiar. Amidst the clutter of books, Ohio sports paraphernalia, Diet Pepsi cans, yellowed newspapers, salty snack foods, and booty collected from Hugh's travels around the country, there stood a beacon of strength, a symbol of man's ingenuity and perseverance. A "Deserve Victory" bumper sticker.

You can see the distinctive blue and white adhesive banner in the photos here:

And here:

It's nice to see that Hugh has at least a little bit of class in his studio desecrations decorations. And it shows the value of pressing the flesh and making connections. For it was almost two years ago that me and JB Doubtless braved frigid weather (and the Patriot's event planning), to see Hugh in person at what was then the second "Hugh Hewitt On Ice" affair. Here's a shot of JB presenting Hugh with a DV sticker:

At the time, Hugh didn't know us from Adam. Little did he know then, that in the short span of two years, we'd go from being complete strangers to bestest buddies (or nefarious nemeses depending on Hugh's mood). We look forward to next month's 2005 Hewitt On Ice affair with anticipation (and a little trepidation since we're rumored to be actively involved) at yet another chance to rub elbows with one of the brightest stars in the new media sky.
