You Want Fries With That, Eh?

Tim from Colorado (we won't hold that against him) e-mails to vent:

I caught the following in a Yahoo! article about Texas legislators not putting the Welcome Mat out for the Minuteman Project.

Texas State Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa (Dem) said, "I don't think that there's any doubt that there's a tinge of racism beneath the surface in their attempt to try to stop immigrants from Mexico," Hinojosa said. "Why don't they do that in Canada?"

Uh, Chuy, in case you hadn't noticed, we don't have 11 million illegal Canadians in this country. When was the last time an illegal Canadian took your order at a fast-food restaurant? When was the last time a landscaping crew in your neighborhood was mowing lawns wearing plaid flannel shirts, Sorel boots, and a tuque?
