A Matter Of Trust

Teresa at Kiihnworld suggests another word that is played in the Miers nomination discussions. Trust:

It is very common among some Evangelicals to rubber stamp each other based on their self-determined"born again" stories. In the past, I have been advised by Evangelical elders to choose doctors, dentists, stores and even cars by whether or not that person was a Christian based on the Evangelical definition. And that is exactly what I am hearing about Harriet Miers, to trust Bush and her because they are Evangelical Christians. And from my experience, Evangelicals are just as prone to sin and mistakes as anyone else, particularly when seeking or holding offices of power. Evangelicals need rigorous training, years of experience and a solid track record, like anyone else.
