Come For The Show, Stay For The Shooting

Now playing at Block E, the "entertainment" district in downtown Minneapolis, "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight." There was a shootout at the Block E underground parking garage, involving five suspects, two cars, and up to ten shots fired. Oh yeah, some crack was reportedly found in one of the cars too. Fortunately, the shooters weren't crack marksmen and no one was hurt.

As Rambix and the Red Star has noted, there has been little media coverage of this latest example of the breakdown of law and order in the City of Lakes excepting this video at KSTP.com. Nothing from the Strib. Nothing from the Pioneer Press.

Which means that they don't want you to know how much the security situation has deteriorated or they don't consider multiple gunshots being exchanged at a major entertainment destination in the heart of Minneapolis to be a newsworthy occurrence. Neither choice is particularly comforting.
