Coffee & The Constitution

Republicans in Minnesota Senate District 32 are holding an event this Saturday to celebrate the anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America. Details:

When: Saturday, Sept 17

Time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Luna Blu Coffee House
14165 James Rd, Rogers

Purpose: Celebrate 218th anniversary of the day the U.S. Constitution was ratified by the convention of the states.

Program: Southwest MN State University Professor David Sturrock will give a presentation on the history of the U.S Constitution and the First Ringer of The First Ring will add commentary on Iraq's struggle to draft their constitution. The presentation portion will be followed by a discussion amongst all present.

Prof Sturrock has been a political science professor at SMSU since 1996, he has taught over 20 courses in American Government & Politics, including Constitutional Law and American Political Thought. Prof Sturrock is MN's liaison to the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, was the 2004 Republican nominee for U.S House in MN's 7th District and is a former Marshall City Councilman.

The First Ringer has done a lot of researched and commentary on Iraq, including the drafting of their constitution, on his blog TheFirstRingblog.blogspot.com.

Directions: Take I-94 west to the Rogers Hwy 101 exit. Go north to CR-144 and take a right. Take the first left onto James Ave and then left into the strip mall parking lot. Luna Blu is in the middle of the strip mall.
