Read My Lips: No, We're Not There Yet

President Bush speaking at 3M headquarters in Maplewood, Minnesota earlier today:

Technology is changing the way we think. I don't know if you remember those awful trips when you had to drive with your family; you played the license plate game. (Laughter.) Now we got the DVDs -- (laughter) -- right there in the car. Technology happens quickly if you remain an innovative society. And it's those technological improvements that help create high-paying jobs and enhances the standard of living of the American people.

Can you imagine George Herbert Walker and Bar' packing up the kids in the Wagon Queen Family Truckster and heading out for on a road trip to see the second largest ball of twine on the face of the earth (only four short hours away)? Dubya in the back jostling for territory with Jeb, Neil, and Marvin (Dorothy would be up front with Bar')? Singing "Jimmy Crack Corn" and "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" while the Elder Bush scans the horizon for the nearest HoJo or Holiday Inn to put the family up for the night? Good times, good times.
